NA375 Short Cartridge Assembly
We recently worked on a napier turbocharger short cartridge assembly project for a NA357 model. This project took place at our Lincolnshire based workshop, where we have full overhaul facilities for napier repairs, remanufacturing and rebuilding services. In this case study, we will talk you through the steps taken by our napier specialists in Lincoln.
In our napier servicing workshop in Lincolnshire, our turbocharger specialists started with the T/E bearing housing assembly, which has been fitted to the main casing of the cartridge.
Next, our napier specialists fitted the oil feed pipe to the T/E bearing housing assembly. This image shows the view from the inside of the bearing housing.
In this image, you can see that the C/E bearing housing assembly has been prepared with the thrust pad. The bearing assembly is now ready to be placed into the main casing.
The next steps taken by our napier turbocharger specialists in the short cartridge project was to fit the cone over the bearing housing onto the main casing.
Our Lincoln napier specialists have inserted the shaft through the cone and added seal rings. Next, a thrust collar has been heated and put onto the cartridge shaft.
On the next step of the napier short cartridge project, our industrial turbocharger specialists have fitted the C/E end bearing housing into the main casing around the shaft.
Our Lincoln napier turbocharger technicians have then fitted a seal plate onto the main casing. Now, the short cartridge is ready to go into its final steps to being finished.
Finally, a compressor wheel has been screwed onto the shaft, a seal ring has been added and torqued up correctly. Thrust clearance has been taken by using a dial gauge.
